Born and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts, Theodor Seuss Geisel is the son of Henrietta and Theodor Robert Geisel. Geisel is known for writing and illustrating more than 60 books under the pseudonym Dr. Seuss.

Theodor Seuss Geisel born March 2, 1904, is an American children’s author, political animator, illustrator, poet, animator, and filmmaker; he died September 24, 1991.

Geisel attended Dartmouth College, graduating in 1925.
After graduating from Dartmouth, he entered Lincoln College, Oxford, to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in English literature; There, he met his future wife, Helen Palmer, who encouraged him to give up his job as an English teacher to pursue a career in drawing.

His work includes many of the best-selling children’s books of all time, selling more than 600 million copies and being translated into more than 20 languages by his death.
