Emily Lewis is the Lead Developer and Technical Manager at ColoringPagesOnly.com – one of four core team members who operate the site daily – and the person responsible for every aspect of the site’s technical infrastructure. She holds a degree in Computer Science from Maharishi International University (MIU), with additional certifications from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) and Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU). She is based in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The scale of what she manages: ColoringPagesOnly.com serves between 700,000 and 1.2 million visitors every month across 180+ countries, with a library of over 100,000 pages and a browser-based coloring tool available across all devices. Keeping this infrastructure reliable, fast, and correctly indexed at that scale is Emily’s primary responsibility – sustained, specialized technical work that runs in the background of every single visit the site receives.

WordPress development and platform management: Emily manages the site’s complete WordPress infrastructure – the platform itself, its plugin ecosystem, theme customization, PHP-level development, and the ongoing maintenance that a high-traffic content platform of this size requires. This includes performance optimization at the code level: minimizing render-blocking resources, optimizing database queries, managing caching layers, and ensuring that the platform scales reliably under traffic spikes without degradation.

Site performance and Core Web Vitals: A coloring page platform serving visitors across 180 countries – from high-speed fiber connections in urban North America and Europe to slower mobile connections in rural Asia, Africa, and Latin America – cannot be built for the fastest user. Emily optimizes for the user with the most limited resources: image compression and next-gen format delivery, server response time, mobile-first layout performance, and Core Web Vitals compliance across the full 100,000+ page library. She monitors performance continuously via Google PageSpeed Insights, Google Search Console, and server-side analytics, making adjustments as the site’s content library grows.

Online coloring tool: ColoringPagesOnly.com’s browser-based coloring tool – which allows visitors to color pages digitally without downloading separate software – is developed and maintained by Emily. This tool requires ongoing development work: cross-browser compatibility across Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and mobile browsers; touch interface optimization for tablet and phone users; and performance optimization to ensure the tool functions reliably under concurrent usage. It is one of the most technically complex features on the site and the one that most directly affects the experience of visitors who choose to color online rather than print.

Technical SEO implementation: Emily works in direct daily coordination with Nam Nguyen’s search strategy to implement all technical SEO at the infrastructure level. Her responsibilities in this area include:

  • Schema markup – structured data implementation across article and collection pages to enable rich results
  • Canonical URL management – across a 100,000+ page library where duplicate and near-duplicate content risks are significant
  • Crawl budget management – ensuring Googlebot’s crawl allocation is directed toward new and updated content rather than wasted on low-value or duplicate URLs
  • Core Web Vitals optimization – LCP, FID/INP, and CLS monitoring and remediation across the full site
Mobile optimization – ensuring all pages meet Google’s mobile-first indexing requirements
  • Google Search Console monitoring – daily review of crawl errors, indexing status, and performance data

The distinction between Nam’s search strategy (content and priority decisions) and Emily’s technical SEO (infrastructure implementation) is one of the most important operational divisions in the team – it ensures that SEO decisions are grounded in both content quality and technical precision simultaneously.

What she manages every day:

  • WordPress platform maintenance, development, and plugin management
  • Server performance monitoring, uptime, and infrastructure reliability
  • Core Web Vitals tracking and optimization across 100,000+ pages
  • Online coloring tool maintenance, cross-browser testing, and feature development
  • Technical SEO implementation in coordination with Nam Nguyen
  • Google Search Console – daily crawl error, indexing, and performance review
  • Image optimization, caching, and page speed across all content categories

Her approach to technical infrastructure for a content platform: “The site has to work for everyone – not just people with fast internet and new devices. Every technical decision I make is evaluated against the visitor with the most limited resources, not the most. Page load time, download reliability, mobile layout, the coloring tool on a five-year-old phone – these are the constraints that matter. If it works for that user, it works for everyone.”
