6 New Creative Ideas We Can Make With Tracing Coloring Pages

These activities provide countless opportunities for children to explore and expand their creativity while having fun coloring in shapes.

Parents and teachers let kids combine skills, materials, and themes to turn each page into unique creations.

Make Paper Bag Puppets

Almost every child likes to play with puppets. Parents, let your children participate in craft activities to create puppet paper bags from our Tracing coloring sheets.

First of all, you choose images with your favorite characters or animals. Images with simple features work well for this craft activity. You will need an existing empty paper bag or fold your own into a paper box using craft paper.

After cutting out the images from the coloring page, place the images on the front of the paper bag and use a pencil to draw around the outline. The next step will be to cut out the traced image from the paper bag and then use colored glue to attach the colored image to its front.

Adding details such as hair or beard will make the puppet more lively. To make the puppet move, glue craft sticks to the back of the bag.

Create Nature Collage

You can create unique nature collages on your wall or decorate your child’s bedroom with Tracing coloring sheets. First, you will choose images with natural elements like trees and rainbows.

Then, instead of tracing, you can use different natural materials like leaves, flowers and dry twigs to glue them on the dashed outlines. The next step is to use paint or colored pencils to fill in the white spaces on the collage. Let the glue dry completely before displaying the collage.

Make Fingerprint Art

The experience of coloring these tracing pages can be enhanced with fingerprint art. You will choose one or 28 of our coloring pages of tracing.

Illustrations of animals, flowers, and simple objects are more suitable for this activity. You will pour small amounts of different colored paint on a plate or tray.

Then, instruct the child to dip his finger tip into the chosen paint color lightly and then gently press his finger on the drawings on the coloring page.

For preschoolers, you can hold your child’s hand and do it together the first time to avoid getting dirty. Repeat this step until the images on the page are filled with painted fingerprints.

Design Embossed Artwork

Instead of simple pencil tracings, you can convert these coloring pages into beautiful embossed paintings. To get your ideas started, choose a page with bold, clear borders.

Cut a piece of hard card to the desired size place the coloring page on it, and carefully draw the outlines with a pencil. The next step is to cut the cardboard along the newly drawn contours with a craft knife.

If you let children do this step, you need to supervise them. Now, glue the cutouts onto the cardboard and use acrylic paint to trace the surrounding borders to create an embossed image. Once finished, frame it and hang it somewhere for many people to see.

Turn Into A Coloring Book

Our 28 tracing page designs could make a coloring book for kids. This idea is extremely simple. You only need to print and bind all the coloring pages into a book.

The book cover can be one of 28 finished images. You can add a cover name or other decorative elements for a personal touch.

Use this mini coloring book to give to your children. We believe they will be extremely excited to receive this meaningful and educational gift.

Make Flashcards

You can use these tracing designs for learning and improving your child’s memory by creating flashcards. You will choose coloring pages that correspond to the topic you want to teach your child.

Then, print them on thick, hard paper. Use scissors to cut each page into individual cards. You guide children to trace and color the images on each flashcard with bold and easy-to-distinguish colors so children can easily identify them.

On the back of each flashcard, write information related to the image on the front. These homemade flashcards will make your child’s learning much more fun and effective.

Tracing coloring pages offers many engaging and versatile activity ideas for all ages. Whether you follow the ideas above or create your own, we believe you will have fun and bonding moments with your family. Remember to share your child’s work on social networking sites for everyone to see.
