Billie Eilish is an American singer and songwriter. She first came to public attention in 2016 when she uploaded the song “Ocean Eyes” to SoundCloud, and Interscope Records’ subsidiary Darkroom later released it.
Billie Eilish was born in Los Angeles, California, United States, on December 18, 2001. She is the daughter of actress and screenwriter Maggie Baird and actor Patrick O’Connell; both are musicians. Her brother is musician and producer Finneas O’Connell from the band The Slightly.
Eilish said Finneas and her mother inspired her to get into music. Their parents encouraged them to express themselves and explore whatever they wanted, including art and acting classes.
Eilish wrote her first “real” song at age 11 for her mother’s songwriting class. The song is about a zombie apocalypse, inspired by The Walking Dead’s TV series.
