5 Unique Activities With Free Printable Elf Coloring Pages

Christmas elves often wear green or red outfits. You can color these images inspired by the elf’s original appearance or use a unique set of colors in the fun activity ideas below.

 Make Paper Dolls

This is a creative and educational activity that kids are sure to enjoy! First, print the coloring pages illustrating the elf’s portraits and costumes on sturdy paper.

Then, let children color as they like and cut out the elves and costumes according to the outlines. Leave a small section at the top to attach the garment.

Use glue or small tape to attach the outfits to the elf doll. You encourage children to express creativity by creating many paper elf dolls with different outfits.

Play Elf Nature Hunt

This activity can be organized in groups. You will print out multiple copies of the elf coloring pages on cardstock.

Carefully cut out the colored elf figures and their accessories, if any. Use string or small clips to attach the elves to various outdoor items, such as tying them to tree branches and bushes or hiding them in the grass.

Gather the children and explain that magical elves are hidden in nature; their task is to find them. Give each child a coloring kit to take with them on the hunt.

Let children explore the outdoors, looking for hidden elves. When they find an elf, they can color a part of that elf’s clothing or accessory.

Once the nature hunt is complete, gather the kids to discuss their favorite finds, the colors they used, and any imaginative stories they came up with during the activity.

Create A Puppet Theater

When doing this activity, you will need some coloring pages of Elf, popsicle sticks or wooden craft sticks, cardboard boxes, and other craft materials.

After printing and coloring, cut out your favorite images, ensuring the cuts are accurate and have all the details. Use glue or tape to attach the elf characters to the top of a popsicle or craft stick.

Make sure they are centered and securely attached. Take a small cardboard box and cut a rectangular hole in one side. This will be the stage for puppet theater.

Have children stand behind the box and hold their elf puppets above the stage through the opening. In this way, they can control the puppets and act out the scenes.

Create Elf Storybook

You’ll be spoiled for choice with your favorite Elf coloring sheets in our collection above.

Print them out and encourage your children to color them however they like, then cut the colored elves out of the page. If you are using a blank notebook, open it to the first blank page.

If using loose sheets, arrange and glue the cut-out elf characters on the pages in a way that suggests a sequence for the child’s story.

Encourage children to write captions or short sentences below each scene to describe the elves’ actions or dialogue.

After completing the Elf Storybook, read it together and share in the imaginative journey created by children.

Create Christmas Ornaments

This fun activity is not only for children but also for adults. Like other crafts, you’ll cut them out after printing and coloring the elf shapes.

Then, laminate them to make them more durable. You will punch a hole in each elf and thread the string through the hole.

Finally, this unique elf decoration can be hung on the Christmas tree, wall, or anywhere.

Whether in the form of storybooks, puppet theaters, or holiday decorations, the world of elf coloring pages continues to inspire fun, creativity, and a little magic.

We are confident they will become a cherished and memorable experience for all who embark on this colorful journey. Remember to show off your artwork and share it on our Facebook and Pinterest pages. We’re sure it looks great!
